Folding Bikes Fly Higher

Why pilots love DAHON folding bikes

From day one, light aircraft owners and pilots have recognized folding bikes as an essential piece of kit. Dahon graced the cover of Great American Airways as early as ’87. Similar to the reasons why the boating community adore their Dahons, a pilot will take advantage of their light weight and small size for getting around on arrival at their destination, without the hassle and expense of renting a car, and even for the ease of hopping on your bike to make your way from a hangar that can sometimes be way out on the strip.

Recently, experienced pilot and Dahon owner Ney Grant sent us this wonderful video made for his Dad for Father’s Day. Ney used a GoPro and self-designed motor mount to capture the stunning shots. It perfectly demonstrates the world of possibilities that open up when you unfold one of our bikes. Ney has made a number of videos about his adventures, which even lead to him being invited to speak at EAA Airventure Oshkosh, the world’s largest aviation show. You can watch and read more in his excellent blog.
