China’s CCTV OUTLOOK Interviews DAHON’s Dr. David Hon

Major Chinese television station CCTV recently visited DAHON’s factory in Shenzhen to interview founder and CEO Dr David Hon for their program, OUTLOOK (Hua Shang Lun Jian), which presents insight and opinions from some of China’s top companies. As the world leader in folding bicycles, DAHON was delighted to be spotlighted by the program. The crew visited and filmed the factory and offices, framing and lifestyle shots, and went on to shoot the interview and related report.

As Chinese president Xi Jinping lately announced, China’s manufacturing goal is “to push forwards, with the aim of the Made in China 2025 initiative to turn “made in China” into “created in China”, moving from fast and cheap labor, to quality manufacturing, making Chinese brands into global, household names. [China] will provide the stage for creative development, quality and branding for companies to share their experience, wisdom and success.” CCTV OUTLOOK plans to document this movement and follow a number of corporations as they realize their “Chinese Dream”.

Dr. David Hon warmly welcomed the CCTV OUTLOOK crew in Songan, Shenzhen. Dr. Hon explained that, “as the global economic structure goes through this profound change, DAHON as a global leader in the field of folding bicycles, should adjust its industry chain, pushing forwards creativity, and carrying on deepening reform. In the meantime, DAHON also needs and welcomes government policy protection and help.” 

CCTV OUTLOOK put forward that DAHON had in fact made great contributions over the decades towards Chinese environmental protection through green transportation. They hope that DAHON will continue as they have, putting quality first and pushing for green transportation.
