Six Peaks by Folding Bike

Leon Mccarron with DAHON Mu N360 folding bike  Leon Mccarran 6 peaks by folding bike route

Taking the DAHON Mu N360 to new heights

And he’s off! Starting this weekend, seasoned adventurer Leon McCarron will be taking on the six highest peaks of Great Britain, cycling from peak to peak on a Mu N360 and folding it to carry on his back all the way to the top of each. Leon’s journey starts at the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland, with the goal of finishing up atop the highest peak, Ben Nevis on July 19th. The route pans out as follows: Slieve Donard in Northern Ireland, Carranttoohill in the Republic of Ireland, Snowdon in Wales, Snaefell on the Isle of Man, Scafell Pike in England and Ben Nevis in Scotland. Having trekked all over the world, walking over 3,000 miles through China from Mongolia and having cycled from New York to Hong Kong, Leon felt it was high time he did some exploring in his native UK.

Extensive googling indicates this is the first challenge of its type, so we can’t wait to see how he gets on. It’s a real chance to show off just what a folding bike can do and an excellent test of our tagline ‘freedom unfolds’. Dahon and our distributor for the UK, Raleigh, will be rooting for him every step of the way. Having checked the weather forecast for day one, true to form for a British Summer, Leon can expect rain. But this won’t dampen the experienced adventurer’s spirits for a second! You can support Leon, follow his progress and say hello via his twitter page, blog and nifty interactive map. We’ll also be sharing his updates via facebook. He’s welcoming those who want to meet up along the way, so don’t be afraid to get in touch and be part of the adventure!
